Senior Quality Assurance Quality Control Manager (Full or Part Time) (Unclassified) FT & PT $75,000 - $100,000 annually
The SWBNO is currently recruiting for a seasoned individual with extensive engineering experience to develop and lead a quality assurance and quality control program within the SWB's Engineering Department. The successful candidate for this position will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects in facility restoration and development, public utility infrastructure, wastewater and water engineering, storm water control and flood risk mitigation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Coordinate and create an organizational and implementation structure and a QA/QC development program within the Engineering Department.
Provide program guidance to project managers and project QA/QC team toward enhancing the delivery of public infrastructure projects including associated engineering inputs.
Assist SWB Chief Engineer in defining technical development approach of projects toward delivery of detailed designs in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Coordinate with SWB Chief Engineer toward the management of a multi-disciplinary team to complete technical project delivery to program cost, schedule and quality requirements.
Ability to mentor a team of engineers working jointly to support capital, maintenance and operational engineering program.
Mentor team members to promote their technical and professional development and delivery and checking of work.


Provide staff guidance in the review of consultant, vendor and construction contractor proposals.

Minimum Requirements

25+ years' experience within an engineering capacity.
Core technical skills relevant to the water engineering industry including but not limited to open channel hydraulics, hydrology and storm water management, pump and pipeline hydraulics, wastewater treatment, water treatment, civil engineering design, and an understanding of other engineering disciplines.
Significant understanding of construction and operational requirements within design.
Significant understanding of the application, benefits and limitations of a wide range of solutions to problems.
Ability to oversee management teams and provide mentorship to team members.
Well versed in experience of public utility projects.
LA Registered PE or ability to obtain such within 6 months of employment
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent in a relevant field.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Willingness to work and reside within the City of New Orleans
