Howard Ave (northbound lane) from S White St to S Rendon St

Starting Thursday, September 3rd, 2026, Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) contractor, Boh Bros, will be temporarily closing the northbound lane of Howard Ave from S White St and S Rendon St to facilitate 24-inch water main repairs. On Wednesday, September 2nd, contractor crews will have flagging operations in place while crews place temporary asphalt in the shoulder on Howard Ave. Tomorrow, traffic will be able to travel in both directions on Howard Ave.
LOCATION: Howard Ave (northbound lane) from S White St to S Rendon St
WORK SCHEDULE: We anticipate repairs to be completed within the next 2-3 weeks, weather permitting.
TRAFFIC IMPACT: Traffic on Howard Ave (northbound) will be detoured to use S Broad St to Euphrosine St to S Rendon St.
For all traffic interruptions, signage and traffic control measures such as barrels and fencing are onsite to direct drivers and pedestrians. Crews will allow buses and emergency vehicles to pass, as needed.
