Water Pressure Restored Following Early Morning Water Main Damage; Boil Water Advisory Remains in Effect for West Bank New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS — Water pressure has been restored to the majority of  residents affected by an early morning water main disruption on the West Bank of New Orleans.The water main was damaged by a contractor working in the area who is working for a different agency. SWBNO crews responded immediately to isolate the break. Contractor crews will make the necessary repairs.  

**NOTE: Homes and businesses between General DeGaulle, Highway 428, and the Parish line, as well as between General DeGaulle, Wall Blvd, and Westbend Parkway are still experiencing low water pressure. Pressures are increasing more slowly in these areas at this time we do not have an estimated time for restoration. We will continue to provide updates as available. 

The precautionary boil water advisory for the West Bank of New Orleans remains in effect. Residents in the affected area should continue to follow boil water advisory precautions until the advisory has been lifted.

SWBNO crews remain on site as repair work continues. Additional updates will be provided as they become available.
