NEW ORLEANS, La. —  Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) experienced an issue with its 25-hz power system that affected several drainage pumps and potable water pumps.

As a result of the power interruption, the drainage pumps that rely on 25-Hz power were offline for approximately thirty minutes to an hour. SWBNO crews responded immediately and have successfully restored the affected drainage pumps to service. Crews also restored power to the potable water pumps. 

At this time, there are no impacts to drinking water service or water quality for SWBNO customers. Water service remains available, and customers do not need to take any action.

SWBNO will continue to provide updates as needed.
