For Immediate Release: Monday, May 11, 2026 11:00 AM

New Orleans, LA - The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) released the 2025 water system grades, evaluating utilities across the state on several critical performance measures including compliance with federal and state water quality standards, financial stability, operations and maintenance, infrastructure condition and overall system performance.

Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) is pleased to announce that we have successfully maintained an A grade at the Algiers Water Treatment Plant and improved the Carrollton Water Treatment Plant's grade from a C to a B. The improved grade at the Carrollton Water Treatment Plant reflects significant operational and infrastructure enhancements, including upgrades to the Sycamore Filter Gallery.

"This progress demonstrates our continued commitment to improving water quality, strengthening infrastructure and delivering reliable service to the residents of New Orleans", said Randy Hayman, Executive Director. "This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of our operations, water purification, and engineering teams."

SWBNO remains focused on advancing critical infrastructure projects to further enhance water quality and system resilience across New Orleans.
