We’re Improving Your Water System – Mid-City: Carrollton Avenue and Canal Street

For Immediate Release: Monday, January 20 2020

NEW ORLEANS – Starting Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, the Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) will begin replacing a water valve near the intersection of Carrollton Avenue and Canal Street. Traffic impacts will include brief lane closures near Carrollton Avenue and Canal Street intersections. Residents are asked to heed any traffic directives and traffic signage.

Starting at noon, some residents along Canal Street from Murat to Jefferson Davis Parkway will likely experience low to no water pressure. We encourage residents in the area to make any necessary preparations. We ask all residents near the impacted area to call 52-WATER immediately if they experience a drop in water pressure. All water pressure is expected to be restored before the end of day.
