Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO), in consultation with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), is testing water quality samples, which may take up to 24 hours to achieve results. Until clear test results are back, a precautionary boil water advisory (BWA) remains in effect for parts of New Orleans East which includes:

• Morrison Rd. from Berg Rd to Dune Dr
• Dune Dr from Morrison Rd to Hayne Blvd
• Hayne Blvd from Dune Dr to Berg Rd
• Chef Menteur Highway from Industrial Pkwy to Chef Menteur Pass, which includes the Venetian Isles subdivision and including businesses along the Industrial Pkwy and Intracoastal Dr. 
• Old Gentilly Rd from Inner Harbor Navigation Canal to Elaine St
• Elaine St from Old Gentilly Rd from Intracoastal Waterway
• Intracoastal Waterway from Elaine St to Inner Harbor Navigation Canal 
• Inner Harbor Navigation Canal from Old Gentilly and Intracoastal Waterway

Water pressures in this area fell below 20 pounds per square inch (psi) while crews performed a test closure to assess repairs to a 50-inch water main on Filmore Ave. Repairs will still need to be made at a later date after more water valve work is done to get a better water closure.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to use bottled or boiled tap water to drink, cook, clean food or brush teeth until further notice. Residents with compromised immune systems should also use safe water to wash hands, shower or bathe.
