Routine manual and maintenance work at the entrance level; and related work as required.

This classification is being announced to create a list of candidates interested in employment as a Laborer with the City of New Orleans. Applicants' names will remain on the list for three (3) months from date of application. Applicants who are still interested in the position after three (3) months must reapply.

Minimum Qualifications

This classification is in the minimal skill series; as such this classification has no official minimum qualification requirements.

NOTE: The minimum age limit is 18 years for any class of work requiring hard physical labor, operation of or proximity to hazardous machinery, exposure to hazardous chemicals, or participation in any other processes or procedures which are prohibited or limited by the Louisiana State Child Labor Law.

Non-competitive examination per Civil Service Rule V, Section 8.1 (a).
