Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans to Host Job Fair on June 9

The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) is once again partnering with multiple agencies across the city to host a Job Fair on June 9, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the New Orleans Convention Center in LaNouvelle Ballroom, Sections A & B. Entrance is Lobby E.

SWBNO has open positions in departments throughout the utility. Recruiters and utility representatives are prepared to hire new meter readers, customer service team members, plumbing inspectors, internal auditors, and more.

Available positions span all professional backgrounds and experience levels and some posistions will be able to be hired on-site. 

“Our workforce is our most important asset and essential to helping New Orleans thrive,” said Ghassan Korban, SWBNO Executive Director. “Our employees wear a lot of different hats to serve our city well, and we operate best when we’re appropriately staffed. We are hiring for a wide variety of positions with the opportunity to grow and build a career with the Sewerage and Water Board.”

Multiple other agencies will also be in attendance and accepting job applications.

Special participating vendors are:

  • Louisiana Workforce Commission (mobile kiosks)
  • State of LA Voter Registration facilitating a registration drive
  • Inclusive Care (dental care information, glucose, high-blood pressure screening)

Some agencies, including SWBNO, will hire on-site. For immediate hiring, applicants must have a valid driver’s license, state ID, or school ID; their original social security card or birth certificate; and a copy of all documents that apply to their education.
