KIND OF WORK:

Professional, supervisory, administrative and technical work over Employee Relations in the Sewerage and Water Board Human Resources Department. Work includes planning, assigning and reviewing the work of professional, technical and clerical employees. Oversees all areas of employee relations.  Work also includes establishing and monitoring management controls and maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations pertaining to Human Resources operations; related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

(Entrance)

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.*

Five (5) years of professional administrative experience in human resources. At least two (2) years of this experience must have been at the exempt (salaried) level and include supervisory responsibilities. 

NOTE: Professional administrative experience is defined as experience gained a position that required a bachelor’s degree upon entrance.

NOTE: Preference will be given to applicants with training and or additional experience in multiple Human Resource functions.

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.*

Permanent status with the Sewerage & Water Board and/or in the classified service with a pay grade equal to or higher than pay grade 77.

Two (2) years of full-time experience with the Sewerage & Water Board and/or in the field of human resources at a level equal to or higher than pay grade 77.

This position requires a one year probationary period.

* Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify education claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this job classification.

KIND OF EXAMINATION:

A qualifying written examination and a rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however, credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for related experience gained within the last ten (10) years.

The examination is a written test to measure: Basic Management Principles, Decision-Making and Organization, Interpersonal Skills, Written Communication, and Mathematics.  

This is an original entrance examination.
