Kind of Work

This is a leadership position in the Networks multi-skilled workforce.  This individual works as a team leader and work coordinator in a multi-skilled, team-based work environment and will assume increasing level of responsible roles within Zone Maintenance organization. In order to provide on-the-job training for promotional opportunities to higher level positions this individual may receive temporary assignments as a Planner/Scheduler, Quality Assurance Inspector, or Zone Manager I during their leave periods or other related absences.

Minimum Qualifications

(Original Entrance)
1. A High School Diploma or GED issued by a state department of education.
2. A valid Louisiana Class "A" Commercial driver's license. *

3.  Class 4 Wastewater Collections license and Class 4 Water Distribution license.  *

4. Ten (10) years of maintenance and/or construction experience in utility water distributions, utility wastewater collections systems or related experience.

(Promotional)

 High School Diploma or GED issued by the State Department of Education.*

Valid Louisiana Class A Commercial Driver's License.*

Permanent status with the Sewerage & Water Board.  

Permanent or probationary status with the Sewerage & Water Board as a Networks Master Maintenance Technician I.

Two (2) years of experience as a Networks Master Maintenance Technician I or nine (9) years of maintenance or construction experience in utility water distributions, utility wastewater collections systems or related experience.

Letter from appointing authority documenting certification in all required skills in the Sewerage & Water Board structured OJT program for Networks Master Maintenance Technician II.*

Class 4 Wastewater Collections license and Class 4 Water Distribution license.*

Successful completion of the following training courses offered by the Department of Civil Service Employee Growth and Development Division:

* Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify current valid Louisiana Class A Commercial driver's license, education, OJT, and Class 4 Wastewater licenses claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this job classification.

Kind of Examination

A rating of training and experience, weighted 100%.  All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however, credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for experience gained within the last ten (10) years.
