Kind of Work
Responsible work in supervising the mechanical and electrical operation of complex power generation, power transmission and power utilization systems; and related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Permanent status and three (3) years experience with the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans in the classification of Power Dispatcher II or Pumping Stations Supervisor Assistant at Station C, and the ability to operate any equipment required by the position.
Possess of a valid driver's license.*
Applicants should have the ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
* Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify license claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this job classification.
Kind of Examination
A rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however, credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for experience gained within the last ten (10) years.
Selective certification will be approved based upon specific pumping station experience.
This is a departmental promotional examination limited to permanent employees of the Sewerage and Water Board.
