About SWBNO

The SWBNO is a 1400+ employee public utility responsible for: treatment and distribution of safe drinking water; providing water for fire protection throughout the City of New Orleans (City); collection and treatment to reclaim water for safe return to the environment; and flood protection/drainage of the City. We are creating comprehensive delivery solutions for water, water reclamation, drainage/storm water control systems, and community infrastructure through an expanding portfolio of project delivery systems.

Description: Manages the collection, receipt, disposition, and archiving of all documents, audio and videotapes and other items from construction projects, programs, and other operations within the department. Ensures that current information management requirements regarding electronic record keeping, archiving, micro forming, and other applicable areas are followed.

Principle responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
•Process/Scan/Distribute/File incoming and outgoing documentation received for entry accordingly
•Maintain hard files, e-files, shared files, server files, maps files, library, scanned images, cd's, etc of incoming, outgoing, and completed contracts documents.
•Perform weekly project specific QA/QC checks of information entered and scanned in Document Control database
•Conduct research and support customers/staff with request for documentation.
•Maintain data integrity by following established procedures
•Assist PM's with weekly or monthly reporting if needed
•Prepare and process records for scanning and archiving
•Perform data entry into an EDMS
•Maintain a consistent file structure.

The fellow will then put together a business case for the modernizations to gain buy-in from key stakeholders. The compliance/monitoring division of the Economically Disadvantaged Business Program (EDBP) is involved in all Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans projects to ensure that reasonable participation of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) is maintained. EDBP administers the DBE program and works in conjunction with other S&WB departments and agencies to review contracts to identify DBE opportunities to perform commercial useful functions which are consistent with the work required on contract.

EDBP is currently seeking a Compliance Officer to monitor and ensure contract goals with DBE participation are met for the Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans infrastructure projects. Within this context, the DBE Compliance Officer will be responsible for monitoring all aspects of DBE Compliance for S&WB infrastructure projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

1) Responsible for reviewing Project Request Forms to identify potential areas of subcontracting opportunities.

2) Attend Pre-Bid meetings, conferences and seminars and any other appropriate meetings to explain SLDBE program and DBE participation for contracts.

3) Contact Prime and Subcontractors to address any compliance issues and or concerns with
B2GNOW compliance monitoring system.

4) Input new contracts and upload agreements into B2GNOW compliance reporting system.
