Progress... Devastation to Recovery to Restoration to Rebuilding Ten Years Later
Posted 8/26/2015 1:25:18 PM
The Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans has published a comprehensive book which provides detailed information on the 10 years of progress since Hurricane Katrina. The book documents the personal experiences of SWB employees, as they literally risked their lives and their personal safety to salvage and repair the vital Sewerage & Water Board facilities and equipment that made it possible to de-water the city in only 11 days after the levee breeches were repaired, and highlights the progress made in rebuilding smarter, stronger, more reliable and more resilient infrastructure. In addition to the articles, the book is filled with before and after photos of facilities and the many initiatives to rebuild and fortify the most complex water, sewer, drainage and power infrastructure in the country.
