October 31, 2008 - VERY LOW WATER PRESSURE - Residents and businesses in two small sections of the Upper and Lower 9th Ward will experience very low water pressure on Saturday, November 1, 2008 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. while the Sewerage and Water Board makes repairs to a series of valves and also a 16” water main. October 24, 2008 - Corps of Engineers, S&WB Break Ground for $58.8 Million Dwyer Drainage Canal Project - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and The Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans will break ground Monday at 10 a.m. for construction of a $58.8 million concrete box culvert canal beneath the median of Dwyer Road to improve drainage in eastern New Orleans. September 17, 2008 - Dwyer Road Pump Station Contract Awards - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans announced today the award of a $58.8 million contract to construct the Dwyer Road Intake Canal in New Orleans East as part of the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Damage Reduction Project (SELA).
