Hurricane and Local Weather Information

Hurricanes, tropical storms, and heavy rainfall have a much greater impact in New Orleans than in other large cities. The Sewerage and Water Board must be ready at all times to pump rainfall out of the city. Even as drainage canals and pumping stations are expanded to increase capacity, flooding remains a concern.

The websites listed below give current weather conditions in the New Orleans area and offer tracking updates for hurricane and tropical storms.
