The purpose of this project is to develop a Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) that complies with the HMGP (Hazard Mitigation Grant Program) and 44.CFR.201.6 and classifies the Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans as a single, local jurisdiction. As a single, local jurisdiction with a LHMP, the S&WB can be a direct applicant to the State for various FEMA grant funding programs and reimbursements.
The S&WB Plan address two basic questions:
What hazards present the greatest risk to the region, its citizens and specifically the S&WB?
What are the most effective ways to reduce those risks?
The S&WB values your input into its Hazard Mitigation Plan. Therefore encourages you to review the plan and fill out a comment form so that we may take your comments into consideration in the final plan.
