Water Service Will Be Interrupted Friday In Area of Mayo Road While S&WB Replaces Hydrants

Homes and businesses in the area of Mayo Road and the I-10 Service Road in eastern New Orleans will be without water from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday while the Sewerage and Water Board replaces three broken fire hydrants and an eight-inch water valve.
Streets affected will be I-10 Service Road from Farwood Road to the Lawrence Canal; Mayo from the Service Road to Lake Forest Boulevard, and Lake Forest from Mayo to Lawrence Canal.
The New Orleans Fire Department has been notified, and
door-to-door notices were distributed in the area by the S&WB.
Board officials said the work is necessary to ensure maximum water pressure in the area for fire fighting purposes and customers’ personal needs.
