Streets in Part of Algiers Will Be Without Water
While Repairs Are Made on Weekend


Residences and businesses along some Algiers streets will be without water over the weekend while the Sewerage and Water Board replaces a fire hydrant, installs a six-inch water valve and repairs five broken water valves.

The repairs will help improve water pressure in this area.

The affected streets for Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., are: Amazon from Delaware to Georgia; Wabash from Delaware to Florence; Memorial Park from Farragut to Idaho; Florence from Memorial Park to Gen. DeGaulle; Delaware from Memorial Park to Wabash; Kraft Place from Memorial Park to DeGaulle, and Copernicus from Farragut to Casa Calvo.

The affected streets for Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., are: Behrman Hwy. from Marr to Indiana; Farragut from Behrman Hwy. to Copernicus; Elmwood Park from Marr to Florence; Sabine from Marr to Florence; Potomac from Florence to Marr, and Marr from Behrman Hwy. to Potomac.

Door-to-door notifications were made in the area and the New Orleans Fire Department has been notified of the situation.
