Parts Of Uptown, Mid-City Will Be Without Water Over The Weekend While Repairs Are Made


Some residences and businesses in the area of Walnut and Camp streets will have no water service from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 16 while the Sewerage and Water Board repairs water valves.

The affected streets are 100 and 200 blocks of Walnut, 6500 to 7000 blocks of Magazine, 200 block of Audubon Street and 7000 and 7100 blocks of Camp.

Also, some residences and businesses in the area of Gravier and S. Broad will have no water service from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 17 while repairs are made to water valves.

The affected streets are 100 to 600 blocks of S. Broad on the riverside and 2400 to 2600 blocks of Gravier.

S&WB officials said the work is crucial to the reliability of the water system for fire fighting purposes in the area.

Door-to-door notifications are being made and the New Orleans Fire Department has been notified.
